Coming in from DFW over the Altamont Pass, flyin’ in a big airliner

It’s called the City and it sits on the Bay.

Arlo Guthrie, whether in the City of New Orleans or Coming into Los Angeles, said it all. It’s all about the journey – the trip. In the trips I get to go on, there’s nothing like landing at home base, SFO. Yesterday we had a little weather which meant landing in the opposite direction we usually come in. With a sky cleared by fall rain, the City and the Bay bustle and shine.

This gallery and video document our approach into SFO on Runway 10L during some minor league weather.

Coming over the bay, you see Alameda, and then the Oakland Bay Bridge, ships, the City, and a plane taking off from Oakland pass underneath us.
