Delphis, Diana, and Léda

I’ve spent almost as much time translating, interpreting, molding, reordering and adapting my grandmother’s memoirs as I have translating Victor Hugo’s Hernani. I exist somewhere in the middle of Canadian french and Californian english, I will never escape that awesome purgatory. I don’t strive for perfection, I just hope what I put up is soluble and keeps you reading.

Today marks the first unveiling of the first of my Uncle Michel Bédard’s memoirs. Michel not only encouraged my grandmother to capture her thoughts, he went out of his way to give his impressions of everyone he knew, and more. No Bédard is safe.

This story is about the absolute state of war between a brother and two sisters, a battle from Greek mythology.
