A Cantic Christmas: A Christmas tale about Citizenship and Immigration
Well over sixty years ago, a different sort of migration was going on on an icy Christmas Eve. A traveler moved north, slowly towards the Canadian border station at Cantic, on the New York / Québec border. John Bédard worked nine years for Canada Immigration, left Canada for the US, became citizen, joined the US Customs Service for a distinguished twenty year stint.
He was one of the few US Customs officers qualified to work both customs and immigration issues.
