SJCBS alumnus John Treilhard, #132, died unexpectedly on the night of December 2, 2016. John attended St John’s from 1963-1969 after which he went to the University of Winnipeg where he completed his BA. He subsequently was awarded a full scholarship to McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario where he completed both his master’s degree and his Ph.D. in English literature, with theses on Marlow and Chaucer. John then wrote briefly for the Edmonton Report and the Coburg Star before returning to McMaster where he completed his second doctorate, this one in medicine. He opened a private practice in Toronto and worked regular shifts in hospital emergency rooms. John leaves behind his wife, Lynne, his mother, Lee, daughter Marieke, three step-children, and a four-month-old grand daughter as well as two brothers, Mac and Mungo Glen.
