St. John’s Bulletin – Fall 1973

Please enjoy the attached pdf. You can read it on screen or download a copy.

This is a joint Alberta / Manitoba St. John’s Bulletin from the Fall of 1973. Great thanks to Bill “Mole” Thomson for finding and scanning these.

Many familiar names from this era dot this bulletin, including most of the participants of the New Boy Trip and many of the boys, old and new, who attended the school in and around 1973.

Of particular note is the great detail about the New Boy. There’s even some recognition (though not much, thank god) of Peter Jackson’s unfilmed and unsullied brigade (you know who you are). There are details about the trip itself that I often thought was too crazy to believe like Derek Bedson somehow completing the trip with an undiagnosed broken arm. How the John West split its stern. My galley, er, canoe mates . . . Vardy, Marx, Nordahl, and a forgotten Keegan II.
